How to prepare Paneer Pakora?

Paneer Pakora is a hot / spicy dish which is made of the following ingredients.

Ingredients :

  • Oil to fry
  • For marination
    • Paneer – 1 cup cut into cubes(approx.125-150 gms)
    • Yogurt – 2tbsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Turmeric pinch
    • Garam masala – 1tsp
    • Corriander powder- 1tsp
    • Cumin pwder -1tsp
  • For batter
    • Besan – 1 cup
    • Salt to taste
    • Ajwain seeds – 1tsp
    • Chilli powder -1tsp
    • Water sufficient to make a thick batter
    • Amchor powder -1tsp
    • Asafoetida pinch
    • Oil 1tbsp
    • Baking soda pinch

Procedure:

  • Marinate the paneer in yogurt and the rest of the ingredients for about half an hour
  • In the meanwhile prepare the batter. For making the batter add all th dry ingredients into a mixing bowl and then add some oil to it then once mixed well add water required to the dry ingredients to make a thick batter
  • Now in a wok take oil for frying and heat it on a medium high
  • Once the oil is hot then dunk the paneer pieces into the batter and steep them into the hot oil fry them for two minute on both the sides or untill golden brown
  • Drain them on a kitchen towel to drain the excess oil
  • Serve the hot pakoras in a plate and offer it to perumal with green chutney or tomato chutney
